About Us

What is the Moose Legion?

Dedicated members of the Loyal Order of Moose continually look for ways to provide even greater service to our children at Mooseheart and our seniors at Moosehaven.  The Moose Legion provides a venue for these enthusiastic members to direct and lead special programs that accomplish this fraternal mission.

Why should I consider joining the Moose Legion?

That which we send into the lives of others comes back into our own in many ways.  Lives change when we do this.  Membership in the Degree of Service offers you additional opportunities to serve childhood and old age, and opens the door to you and your family for theme parties, sporting events, community service projects and other unique activities available to members of the Moose Legion.


Be the leader you want to be and can be.  Leadership skills may be developed through the Moose Legion Committee of your Lodge or within the Moose Legion jurisdiction.


Membership in the Moose Legion is the stepping stone to the Honorary Degrees of our Order - the Fellowship Degree of Honor and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.  Being called to receive these Honorary Degrees within the Loyal Order of the Moose is only possible through recognized achievements in the Lodge and Moose Legion.

What are the Qualifications?

  

Qualification:


Members of the Loyal Order of Moose are qualified for membership in the Moose Legion if they meet the following eligibility requirement: 

    Must be an active Male Lodge member 


Application for Membership:


A Moose member desiring to elevate to the 1 Degree of Service shall complete an application for membership and have it sponsored by a Moose Legionnaire in active status. Full payment of any fees, including annual dues must accompany the application. 


Orientation and Conferral: 


Required Candidates for membership in the Degree of Service must be properly conferred as a condition of membership in the Moose Legion. Conferral may be held at the local Moose Lodge or at a Moose Legion Celebration in the manner and form required by the Moose Legion Council and approved by the Moose International, INC., Board of Directors. It is the responsibility of the Secretary to notify all approved applicants in writing to appear for conferral. The notice will include the date, time, and location of the scheduled conferral ceremony. A former member previously enrolled into any Moose Legion in the manner and form required by the Moose Legion Council as approved by the Moose International, INC., Board of Directors, may re-enroll without attending another conferral ceremony.

Moose Legionnaires are leaders...They are the fuel that feeds the fire; the engine that drives the car; but most of all, they are Loyal Moose Members who roll up their sleeves and make things happen.  They recognize that there are no greater responsibilities in this Fraternity than strengthening its membership and providing financial support to Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
